Who We Are:

You are probably here because you thought about having professional portraits created during your Island vacation.  And what a great idea you had and we are pleased that you clicked on our site so here’s a little about us.

Galveston Vacation Portraits is a division of the award winning studio of Susan Henry Photography.  Susan Henry Photography is a professional photography studio that has been in Galveston since 1996 and has been voted best photographer 8 times, including this last June of 2011 by the readers of the Galveston County Daily News.

Susan’s photographs have been in Time magazine, the cover of Success magazine, the cover of Galveston magazine, the cover of the Houston Women’s Business magazine and others.

Susan has photographed over 2000 families at the beach in Galveston and her beach portraits have won critical acclaim.

She believes strongly that families should have a professional portrait created.  The problem is that Susan Henry Photography offers only one beach photography session per day at sunset.  And she is booked up weeks and weeks in advance and many visitors to the Island that want to have pictures created while they are visiting cannot get an appointment.

And so she created Galveston Vacation Portraits to offer more beach photography sessions and pictures at affordable prices so that everyone can have a beautiful family picture to remember their fun Island vacation.

Pricing & Packages For Daytime Galveston Photography Sessions

We have economical portrait packages!

We’ll provide between 15 to 25 images online for you to choose from. These digital images are yours to print or use however you like.

All Around Galveston Portrait Pricing:

Up to two adults or children, 20 minute session, & 2 digital images: $99

3-5 adults or children 25 minute session, & 3 digital images: $129

6-12 adults or children 25 minute session, & 9 digital images: $159

13- 15 adults or children 30 minute session, &15 digital images: $179

Purchase additional digital images for only $39 each.

We’ll post your portraits online and you get to select your favorites!!

 Premiere Sunset Beach Portrait Sessions

In addition to our Galveston portraits we offer a premier beach photography session.

Our specialty is sunset portraits on the beach in Galveston. We schedule one premier beach session at sunset each day. Premiere Sunset Beach Sessions have a $300 deposit of which $99 is your session fee & $201 is credited to your portrait order. Portrait prints are only $59 or a all rights are yours “digital” portrait for $79 each.

We know our stuff.

Photographing at the beach is no walk in the park.  You have to know what you’re doing or you’ll have squinty eyes and dark shadows on your faces.  And frankly, that greats bad memories instead of good ones.

But it’s even more than that.

We know how to pose you so you look thinner, taller and well, you just look good.

The wind is almost always blowing at the beach and that means your hair, your shirt and or your dress is blowing too.  We have over 2000 photography sessions worth of knowledge on how to deal with wind and we’ll pass that information along to you so you won’t look 20 pounds heavier when the wind pushes your clothing out from your body.

Remember, the wind comes from the south for 8 months of the year, so you can’t simply turn and face the other way- unless you want the Seawall in your portrait instead of the beach and the Gulf.

We Love Children & Pets

When we say that we love children and pets we don’t just mean that we like them or that we will take the pictures.  What we mean is that we LOVE them.

Children require a different technique when trying to get a great picture of them at the beach.

And once again, due to all of the experience we have had, we feel uniquely qualified to make your children happy while creating memories that you will cherish for years and years to come.

Simply put, telling a child to “sit on this rock and stay there”  may get them to stay there but it won’t put a genuine smile on their face.  And that’s our mission, and we take it seriously.

We have “games” we have developed just to get kids to stay in position and yet laugh until they cry.  And as you probably guessed, it’s pretty funny for the adults too.
